THE GARDEN ROUTE ‘THOUGHT STARTERS’

Brenton-on-sea is our favourite beach for a long beach walk.

Buffels Bay is a lovely beach for a ‘beach day’ out.

Ile De Pain for our favourite breakfast/pastry spot! The queue is so worth it.

East Head Cafe for a tasty breakfast and nice views.

Emily Moon River Lodge is a beautiful hotel with a lovely restaurant, located in Plettenberg Bay. It has a special African charm.

Old Nick Village is based in Plettenberg Bay, a 30min drive from Knysna. It’s our fave local shopping spot. Perfect for a day-out browsing and lunch. Visit the Mungo homewares and textiles store when you’re there.

Visit Thesen Island for shopping and an assortment of bars and restaurants.

Robberg Nature Reserve hiking trail for a dreamy hike with incredible views and swimming spots along the way. Check out the schedule, we’re planning to get a group of us together to do it on the 30th of Dec.

For some touristy vibes visit the Cango Caves, located in Oudtshoorn en route to or from Cape Town.

Monkeyland or the Knysna Elephant Park if you fancy seeing some animals.

Botlierskop Game Reserve if you are looking for a safari experience and perhaps don’t have loads of time, then this is the place! We’ve stopped by on the drive back to Cape Town for a day-trip safari tour, some lunch and a dip in the pool, the perfect way to break up the drive.

Addo Elephant National Park is an incredible game reserve that’s along the Garden Route, worth checking out.

Explore the Tsitsikamma National Park for some nature walks.
